How to…

How to make it work? Why does it look like that? … and other popular questions about RobnMeg.com. (This may expand from time to time as people ask questions)

Photos

Photos are shown in blog entries as thumbnails, which are small versions of the real thing.

Clicking on a photo will reveal a new page with the photo, title and a caption of the photo, but this page does so much more. This page is also linked to the photo album.

Photo Album

Photo Ablums are collections of photos from a certain day or of a certain topic. I (Rob) generally make albums of days as most of my photography has been event driven, so when someone asks “Have you got a photo of <insert name> at <insert place> in <insert year>?” I can quickly and easily find a pic.

The quickest way to look at photos is to choose “Photo Album” on the top left of the menu. As with anything these days, this is not the only way of doing it.

When you are looking at a photo posted in a blog, you can just to the album by navigating at the top right of the photo. It will have text in the form of <gallery> / <subgallery> / <photo filename> (e.g. The Journey Photo Album / Walking around in the morning / 20070719_14_broccoli_water_drop <- you can click the links on the left for an example).

By clicking on the subgallery (in this case “Walking around in the morning”) you can look at the index of thumbnail images and by clicking on the gallery (in this case “The Journey Photo Album”) you can browse the index of all subgalleries.
